Invitation to join the Scientific Reports Editorial Board

Dear Dr Kaushik,

I am writing to invite you to serve as an Editorial Board Member for Scientific Reports, a Nature Research journal. http://www.nature.com/srep/

Scientific Reports launched in 2011 as a multidisciplinary, online-only, open access publication. We do not set a threshold of perceived importance to the papers we publish; rather, we publish all papers that are judged to be technically sound and scientifically valid.

Submissions benefit from thorough peer review and rapid publication and, through the open access publishing model, are available to the entire scientific community. Springer Nature brings 150 years of experience in the communication and publication of scientific research to the open access arena.

Editorial Board Members are recruited for an initial 2 year term, and the principal responsibilities are to manage the peer review of manuscripts and make editorial decisions that comply with the editorial criteria of the journal. The papers we publish must be methodologically, analytically and statistically robust; they must provide convincing conclusions fully supported by the scientific evidence reported, and they must present an original contribution to existing knowledge. But we do not make publication decisions based on perceived importance, significance or impact.

We have divided Scientific Reports into broad areas, each of which is represented by an Editorial Advisory Panel member, who offers editorial support and advice, and facilitates the recruitment of the Editorial Board. The Editorial Advisory Panel member for Biological Physics is Professor Yves Dufrene from the Universit Catholique de Louvain, Belgium. We would be delighted if you would act as an Editorial Board Member for Scientific Reports within this field.

Please contact us if you have any questions, and we hope to be working with you in the near future.

Kind regards,

Richard
